Homework:
Homework is an integral part of learning. On this note, students should make the initiative to invest the appropriate amount of time in it, for each night it is assigned through out the school year. Homework is expected to be completed and handed-in on time. Incomplete and illegible work will not be tolerable or accepted. Should a student choose to hand-in his/her homework late, he/she should expect the following:
Late Homework Grading Policy:
Crisis’ (i.e. personal/family illness, medical emergency, death in the family) can be unexpected and do happen. Should any of these crisis' happen, a student will be given a 24-hour grace period to complete his/her work as long as the crisis is accommodated by a note from a parent/guardian. This will allow a student to complete a missed assignment within a 24-hour period from the day he/she missed it, whereas also, result in the lack of point reductions on their work that is submitted.
As a parent/guardian, please assist your son/daughter by establishing a regular homework routine, which can include the appropriate study time and a place with the necessary tools to complete his/her assignments. Encourage your son/daughter to take-on the full responsibility of completing, overlooking and storing his/her homework in an organized fashion in time to be brought into school the next school day to be submitted. The same applies to completing independent reading logs, as well as occasional projects or reports that may be assigned through out the school year.
Please make the initiative to ask to see your son/daughter’s planner on a day-to-day basis. As part of this routine, initial the bottom of their planner each night. Additionally, feel free to include a note within the planner, should there be any questions or concerns.

- 1st Day Late = 10% point reduction from highest possible score
- 2nd Day Late = 20% point reduction from highest possible score
- Beyond 2 Days = Marked “LATE”/Receive a score no higher than 50%
